TriState K-9 Services police dog trainer certification course is designed to exceed all others professional police k9 curricula for professional police dog trainers.
Our course covers all aspects of police dog training including how to evaluate another trainer, police protection, K9 police unit cohesion and procedures as well as problems and solutions.
Our certified police dog trainer will be able to confidently assess police dog potential from a puppy's litter behavior onward.
Upon graduation, our certified trainers would have had experience with a number of police dogs and units, trainer instruction, canine protection and K9 unit maintenance.
Available Certification Levels
Basic Instructor Course 6 weeks
This course is structured for those wishing to become an instructor of basic obedience. You will be able to conduct group and private instruction in basic obedience, assist in kennel management and train basic agility. You will learn fundamentals of tracking, grooming, puppy socialization, temperament testing and health.
Advanced Trainer Course 10 weeks
This course is structured in an apprenticeship manner, for those wanting to obtain a higher level of certification and provide more advanced training. Our apprenticeship is 80% hands on. You will learn all phases of basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, and much more. All our classes are small and most are one on one. This gives you more time with the instructor and dogs.
